Our weekend

This evening we took Cade over for swimming at my grandparents house. Callum mostly slept the whole time. They have an indoor pool & it was really fun to watch Cade splash around. Kevin, Poppie, and Aunt Julie swam too. After we swam Poppie went a picked up Thai food (a great treat) and Cade had seconds!

Poppie, my grandpa at 80-something is a pillar of great health! He has taught me so much about wellness and inspired me to research and learn more about how food, water and holistic approach to medicine can impact health. I've started juicing veggies again and am having fun coming up with creative ways to add more raw veggies to our diets. I'd like to get us up to 75% raw foods (fruits, veggies, seeds, nuts, very limited meat - mostly fish). The latest was a raw dish called "creamed" cauliflower. Kevin likes to laugh thinking of how Cade and Callum will be teased for their unique lunches when they start school. (Most of my "concoctions" can be hidden in a pita and are odorless, so I beg to differ)!

Yesterday was a bridal shower for by brother, Chris' fiance, Katie (pics: Chris & Katie Faville, below is Grandmamer, and Baby Johanna, Katie's baby girl, at the shower Saturday, and my dad and Cade). She is just such a sweet, genuine girl and they are really good for eachother. Their wedding is Sept. 16th and we all love Katie and are so proud of my brother. He is really a catch. My Dad came up with the girls (Grandmamer and Beckie) to play with Cade and Callum and visit Chris during the shower. Cade always looks forward to visits with Grandpa. Cade always asks him to take him for a walk around the block right when he gets to our house. They have a lot of fun together!
