Happy Half-Birthday Cade!

What beautiful weather we've been having! I've felt so spoiled to have so many great sunny, clear outings, and photo sessions this Fall. Hope wherever you are you had a great weekend! Cade and Callum spent Friday and Saturday nights at their cousin's house. Thank you Jen & Keith for the much needed couple-time Kevin and I got as a result of your generosity! :) We had been planning to spend the weekend in Hood River (mostly for some R&R, and I also had a couple of photo sessions scheduled), but on Wednesday evening, Kevin came down with a terrible migraine (his second in our entire 6+ year marriage), taking him out of commission through late Friday night. I felt so bad for him, he's hardly ever sick or feeling bad & it's so sad when he is. Thankfully he was much better Saturday morning so we could enjoy the rest of the weekend together, but by Friday afternoon I had decided it'd be best to stay home and cancelled our trip. We had a great time at home once he felt up to it! We went to IKEA, ate out a lot (pretending that we were on vacation), caught a movie (Nick & Nora's Infinite Playlist - cute movie overall, though some of the messages saddened me as the mom of future teenagers, morality speaking), and even got a couple projects done that we'd been wanting to.

This morning we met Keith and Jen and the kids at church. Yep, they got two 4.5 year olds, a 2.5 yr old & an almost 3 year old ready for church and made it with time to spare - way to go! (It's probably nothing when you consider they bathed all the kids at night AND had them in bed early AND braved a very fun (as in there was a boat and a train to ride!) pumpkin patch with them on Saturday). :) Anyway, the boys had a BLAST! (Guess I'm in an 'all caps' mood). We had lunch at Baja Fresh after church (in honor of Cade's half-birthday), went to play at the new Learning Store in LO, had a relaxing/chore-filled afternoon & evening, & after dinner Cade chose to get an ice cream cone for his half-birthday treat. Now it's 9 and I can still hear the boys laughing in their room, coming off the sugar-high no doubt. Getting sugar-treats in a big deal over here, but then again, so are half-birthdays!

They got all hyped up and ran around like maniacs (it's not a big place, but no one else was there).

We headed home after a sugar-induced crash (no one was injured - they thought they were hilarious).

Ice cream has never looked so good. Glad you got to spend some time with just you and Kevin!
